Flavia has traveled all over the world. From the morros of Rio de Janeiro to the paved streets of Paris. The nomad is at home where she feels welcomed, and her music is made of this alchemy. It is immaterial, a cosmic vibration that moves in the air: from hot flashes of heat to icy breezes, it resonates at all latitudes. Flavia knows that too. Her singing has rang from raids to bus shelters, from café-concerts to the world’s biggest festivals.

“I’ve never felt better in my life,” she says with her irresistible smile. Flavia Coelho is living her best days, both personal and artistic. This is reflected in his fourth album, DNA. A title as short as it means to say a lot. Everything comes from the roots, Flavia knows that. She came from Brazil, from immigrant parents. He is black, she is white. These origins and her background have nourished DNA – Flavia Coelho’s most personal and universal album. Recorded between the Quartier Latin and the Var, Victor Vagh-Weinmann’s two studios, it shines with its musical hybridity. The baile funk crosses the trap and Caribbean music, the cumbia is reinvented, hip hop marries reggae, the Orchestre de chambre de Paris passes through the area… All this was driven by an impressive pop will. “Popular music is the people, and I am a woman of the people,” says Flavia. Here, she confirms her visceral commitment to melodies as catchy as the rhythms.
